Staff and Faculty is Hiring a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT Near Ithaca, NY

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage all inquiries that come into the HR Helpdesk, including departmental email accounts, issue tracking system, the reception desk, the main phone line and walk-in traffic, ensuring timely resolution, or triage, of HR inquires and requests. 
  2. Develop and maintain functional working knowledge of the IC HR Cloud to be able to respond to questions from staff, faculty and student employees with questions regarding employee and manager self-service.
  3. Stay abreast of HR topics and questions to help provide information to College employees about HR services. 
  4. Collaborate with HR team to review Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to HR service strategy and resolution performance, including analytics, service request flows, problem-solving techniques, and escalation scenarios to better streamline help requests and service delivery. Develop, collect, and monitor regular feedback from customers about their experience requesting HR help to strengthen the process.
  5. Work with HR team to develop change management process as it relates to HR service, support and information consumption.
  6. Maintain employment records and appropriate documentation for completion of Form I-9 within Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (BCIS), stated time requirement for students, and assist with Form I-9 completion for faculty and staff. Maintain I-9 files in accordance with BCIS regulations for students and maintain electronic personnel files.
  7. Assist the Talent Management and Operations Team with scheduling, planning, and coordinating orientation and onboarding programs for new employees. 
  8. Maintain public and internal HR calendars, ensuring that information about timecard deadlines, holidays, and other events are communicated. Update information to the College’s internal notice board, Intercom, upon request. 
  9. Properly refer employees and outside entities of our employment verification process through The Work Number. Respond to requests for verification of employment and other forms regarding earnings or employee information that are unable to be completed through The Work Number. 
  10. Ensure coverage of HR reception desk/phones. Oversee HR student assistant workers to include hiring, scheduling, and training (if applicable). 
  11. Provide administrative and secretarial support to the Office of Human Resources.
  12. Order supplies, process requisitions, and pay bills using the on-line financial system. 
  13. Ensure confidentiality and security of office and HR records. 
  14. Participate in special projects as assigned. 
  15. Develop and demonstrate a multicultural awareness and contribute to cultivating an inclusive, diverse and respectful College community. Demonstrate civil and inclusive behavior when interacting with staff, faculty, students and visitors to the College. Promote a flexible, collaborative and inclusive work and living environment and engage in educational opportunities to increase awareness and understanding of diversity and inclusion.

Qualifications: 

High School Diploma and three years of administrative experience; ability to engage with stakeholders across various mediums: written, verbal, face-to-face; excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment; ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.

Hiring rate: $22 per hour

Work Environment: 

This is a client-facing role and will be required to be on campus five (5) days per week. Most of the work of the incumbent is carried out within a generally accessible, safe, indoor environment. The incumbent will be required to use a personal computer and associated equipment as well as other office equipment used in the day-to-day operations. The incumbent may need to deliver various materials on campus requiring the ability to walk or drive or make other travel arrangements.
